Rob Nijboer
 
Rob Nijboer studied guitar with Willem van Lier at the Prins Claus Conservatory in Groningen, The Netherlands. After taking his degree as a performing musician, he was awarded a scholarship from the Andrea Elkenbracht Foundation, which enabled him to continue his studies with John Mills in London. Afterwards he participated in master classes with John Williams and Roberto Aussel and studied with the Czech guitarist Pavel Steidl.
In 1995 Rob started Trio Saudade, with two guitars and a mezzo-soprano, with which he performed for several years and also released a CD. As a soloist he gave concerts in The Netherlands, England and Spain and released the CD Koyunbaba, which was well received. In addition he participated in many ensembles, currently in Duo Abrazo and Trio Alma Canta among others, and choir concerts from the Romancero Gitano series by Castelnuovo-Tedesco.
